Do you love subs or gardens?

posted 30 Nov 2009 18:47 by EK Webadmin

The EK Home and School Association is looking for two additional volunters to oversee the Sub Day lunch program and the garden program.

The garden coordinator position is ideal for someone who likes gardening. Volunteers gardeners are a critical part of Home and School's efforts to make the EK grounds an atractive and welcoming environment beyond what the School Board provides. The Garden Coordinator organizes the volunteer gardeners, arranges garden work days and plans the planting and pruning of the EK gardens. This position is a great way to meet other parents who are gardening enthusiasts.

The Sub Day organizer is responsible for running the Sub Day lunch program on the fourth Friday of the month. It requires approximately an hour and a half of work at the school before and during the second nutrition break on Sub day.

If you are interested in either position please contact Chris at homeandschool09@earlkitchener.net

The efforts of parent volunteers help make EK a great school. Thank you for considering how you can contribute.

Fright Night Scary Successful

posted 2 Nov 2009 09:48 by EK Webadmin

Fright Night again lived up to its reputation, delivering a fun-filled, family-friendly evening of food and games while raising more than $7,000 to support Earl Kitchener School. These funds will be used for computers, AV equipment, supplemental reading materials and other items the school board doesn’t provide.
Thank you to those parents who donated, volunteered and organized. Your help made it all possible. Additional thanks to the local merchants and businesses who donated items for the raffle and silent auction. Please take time to thank our business supporters the next time you are in their shops or establishments.
