Developed as part of the school improvement plan, the Earl Kitchener Code of Conduct applies to both students and parents. This detailed version has additional notes added to each item in the code. This
additional explanation should help parents and staff interpret it for use in
guiding children and provide assistance in discussing a transgression.
- Always do your best.
Participate.
- Be honest and tell the truth.
Don’t steal. Don’t cheat.
- Be kind and courteous to everybody; don't hurt others.
Use good manners.
Share. Compliment others and let them know when they’ve done a good job. Don’t
make fun of people or call them names. Don’t tease people or hurt their
feelings. Hands are for helping.
- Be a good listener so everyone can learn.
Let one person talk at a time.
Don’t interrupt. Don’t distract your classmates.
- Co-operate with your classmates and teachers. Follow your teachers’
instructions. Be a good helper. Work together with your classmates. Play fair.
Take turns. Invite people to play or work with you. Get permission before
borrowing or using someone else’s stuff.
- Take good care of school property and your own stuff.
Be careful not to
break anything. Take good care of Library books. Don’t write or scribble on
desks or walls. Put things back where they belong. Keep track of your
belongings. Put garbage in the garbage can.
- Take care of our planet.
Don’t waste. Use the recycling containers.
- You are responsible for what you say and do.
Don’t blame someone else for
something you said or did. Don’t meddle in other people’s affairs.
